Release Date: February 12, 2016 Why It Could Beat Fury Road: If that 2012 CGI test footage is any indication, then Deadpool is going to be one of the craziest and most gleefully violent comic book movies ever made. Yes, it has an R-rating, the perfectly-cast Ryan Reynolds as the title character, and promises to boast a wealth of personality in a time where superhero fatigue may well be beginning to set in. How Likely Is It?: 5/10. The budget is likely to be much lower here than the $150 million George Miller was given, and Deadpool doesn't benefit from having a veteran director at the helm: instead, this is Tim Miller's feature debut, which is always a dangerous prospect. Still, if it sticks to the demented tone of the test footage, which mined dark humour and a deeply irreverent tone throughout, then Deadpool may have more in common with Mad Max than most of these movies. Still, the number of question marks surrounding its production makes it something of a wild card.
