20. A Wrinkle In Time
There were high hopes that director Ava DuVernay, the first woman of colour to ever handle a $100 million movie, would deliver a thoughtful, dazzling and affecting adaptation of Madeleine L'Engle's classic sci-fi fantasy novel.
Sadly, A Wrinkle in Time's worst crime is that, despite its impressive cast and abundance of eye-popping visual effects, it's so incredibly dull.
The tone wavers constantly, Deric McCabe's performance as Charles Wallace is insufferably irritating, the quality of the CGI is wildly inconsistent, and overall it feels weirdly generic for a blockbuster helmed by an auteur.
Worst Moment: The mysterious antagonistic force known as The IT possesses the protagonist's younger brother Charles Wallace, forcing the 9-year-old McCabe to attempt to be intimidating, whiny voice and all. Unintentional giggles are had.
