19. Breaking In

Universal

Typical home invasion tosh that somehow secured a theatrical release, Breaking In does at least benefit from Gabrielle Union's go-for--broke performance, but it's an embarrassing low for director James McTeigue (V for Vendetta), lacking suspense and brutality as it does.

The antagonists are laughably idiotic, the soap opera drama surrounding the focal incident is a snoozer, and never for even a moment does it feel like something bad could actually happen to Union's family.

Worst Moment: A thoroughly bored Billy Burke - who plays the movie's main villain - seeming only mildly inconvenienced when his goons start turning up dead.
