Alright, fine, The Collector is not a great role for an actor of Del Toro's talents to have. It's a guy with weird hair who stores things in a place called Knowhere and hangs out with Howard the Duck after all, but when you're given such a weird character you should have fun with it.

Benicio Del Toro is bored throughout and mumbles his way through his lines, thus failing to add the slightest bit of fun or life to what should've been a more memorable and unique character. The role wasn't particuarly suitable for Del Toro to begin with as he is mostly an understated character actor, so someone more flamboyant and over-the-top would've been far better. The Last Jedi certainly wasn't the first time Del Toro has been wasted in a blockbuster.

This part fails thanks to both miscasting and Del Toro's evident lack of interest in the part, so this character's exit is something of a relief. The Collector is now dead thanks to Thanos and probably won't return, which is for the best.
