Appeared In: The Incredible Hulk

The Incredible Hulk is an underrated Marvel film, but it's generally not the best acted. Ed Norton is solid as Bruce Banner but he's got nothing on Mark Ruffalo, while Tim Roth and William Hurt's decent efforts are somewhat wasted. Liv Tyler is the one who really drags it down thanks to her lack of chemistry with Edward Norton and her failure to have any fun.

The poorly-written part didn't do Tyler any favors, but thanks to her wet and energy-free performance she shoulders plenty of the blame as well. As the MCU's first ever terrible love interest, unfortunately Betty Ross was a sign of things to come.

The romance between Bruce Banner and Betty Ross was an awful love story (especially that cringe-worthy scene where Banner realized he'd transform if he had sex) and it's difficult to remember anything about the character even if you watched the film recently. There's a good reason why she's never been seen or mentioned again and is the only Phase-One love interest to get no acknowledgement in The Avengers.
