Corey Stoll is yet another actor in the MCU who's obviously talented but got wasted on a weak villain. Unfortunately for him, Yellowjacket is one of the worst villains of the lot.

He's more or less a repeat of Obadiah Shane: he's an evil corporate bad guy, he goes crazy at the end of the film for no apparent reason and he fights the hero in a more advanced version of their suit. The trouble is, Obadiah Shane had a couple of interesting motives and the odd moment where he showed emotion while Darren Cross has absolutely none of that.

He is a dull, superficial blank with no nuance and an utter lack of menace, making him by far the worst thing in an otherwise fun superhero flick. As for Stoll, he does the same thing most of the Marvel villain actors do: he spends the entire thing speaking in a vaguely villainous voice and just coasts along without ever giving a damn.
