6. The Bath Gag

What's with the bathing scenes in the DCEU? First we see Clark Kent interrupting Lois Lane's bath for some steamy did-we-just-see-nipples? action, and now Diana is walking in on Steve Trevor having his own bath.

That moment actually means something here, beyond mere titillation though. It's basically a subversion of the Greek myth in which Actaeon encounters the goddess Artemis (known as Diana in Roman terms) in the bath. He was punished for his accidental (though some versions paint it in more sinister terms) glimpse of her by being transformed into a stag.

That's obviously different, but the spirit - and the symbolism of innocence lost - is very much there.
