At the end of the movie, Davian has an explosive pellet planted inside Hunt's head, and after Davian is killed (in disappointingly abrupt fashion), he has roughly four minutes to stop the pellet before it kills him. Hunt tells Julia, "I'll die unless you kill me", instructing her to throw a power switch so that he can be electrocuted by some exposed wires, which would in turn deactivate the explosive. Hunt "dies", Julia kills some goons, and then she manages to revive him. Two extra WTF points for the unintentionally suggestive way the revival scene is shot, and because Abrams stole the "bang on their heart until they wake up" trope from an episode of his own TV series, Lost, where the exact same thing happened to Charlie (Dominic Monaghan).
