Here, Humphrey Bogart bumbles his lines, falls backwards in a chair, and even burns himself, and he reacts no differently than the stars of today do a hearty "God damn it," then back to work. Guess it's just human nature.
2. We're the Millers
(at 1:31) This shot of a road trip for strangers-posing-as-family the Millers is actually a premeditated joke on cast member Jennifer Aniston. Unbeknownst to her, her fellow Millers have queued up a specific 90s earworm (rather than the planned "Waterfalls" by TLC) to play from their van's radio, and when it hits, she has a tough time maintaining her composure.
1. The Master
Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master is a dark tale about a religious cult in post-World War II America and the susceptible souls who fall in with it. Naturally, it's the perfect milieu for a fart joke. Someone breaks the ultimate taboo during the crowded elevator scene, and the actors inside are left defenceless. The reaction of the late, great Philip Seymour Hoffman is particularly amusing.
