3. Batman's Cowl Had To Be Redesigned Last Minute
Given the elaborate nature of blockbuster movie productions, it's not uncommon for crafts-folk to overlook small details, as was the case with the design of the Batmobile.
After initially forgetting to include a door - resulting in the overhead sliding door being added - the designers also failed to take into account the added four inches of headroom required for Michael Keaton to fit into the cockpit, cowl ears and all.
During the first screen test for the Batmobile, Batman's ears got caught in the door as it closed, and with the vehicle's seat already as low as it possibly could be, there was only one option: lower the ears.
As a result a new cowl cast was quickly created with shorter ears, allowing the Caped Crusader to enter and exit the vehicle with the expected swagger.
