5 Doctor Who Actors Who Have Directed Their Own Movies

By Dan Butler /

3. Peter Davison

Because this counts, right? Peter Davison took matters into his own hands during the show's landmark festivities in 2013 when he enlisted the services of his Classic Series successors to star in a 50th anniversary special of their very own. And trust us, it's pretty special. They might've been overlooked by the main show itself but TV's favourite Time Lord has never been one to give up without a fight. The Fifth Doctor star called upon various familiar faces to celebrate half a century of time and space in style with the likes of Sean Pertwee, Olivia Colman and even director Peter Jackson joining them on their mission to break into the Doctor Who studios. It's definitely worth checking out if you haven't done so already (wait... where have you been?!) and it was so well received that fans are feverishly campaigning for a sequel. Peter has said he'll make one, too, if he can come up with a good enough idea. Fingers crossed!
