This film can be seen as the beginning of the end of the spoof movie as a genre. It may have starred Leslie Nielsen who excelled at deadpan delivery in Airplane! and the Naked Gun movies but it was also co-written by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer. This deadly duo would go on to create the most consistently awful series of movies in cinematic history. Im hesitant to even call them movies, given that theyre really just a bunch of pop culture references strung together.
