A video game movie with a difference, Free Guy stars Ryan Reynolds as Guy, a video game non-player character (NPC) who suddenly becomes aware he's living inside a game, and desperately races to stop it being shut down by the developers.

Simply, this looks like a ton of chaotic fun, serving as both a tribute to and send-up of modern AAA video games, with Reynolds being joined by the thoroughly game likes of Jodie Comer, Taika Waititi, Joe Keery, and Lil Rel Howery.

There's every possibility it ends up being a bit of a mess, but a gloriously entertaining one most likely.
