1. James Cameron Praises The Awful Terminator: Genisys
Terminator: Genisys is seen as the nadir of the Terminator saga, which is slightly impressive considering the reaction to Terminator: Salvation. The reviews for the film were vicious, slating the convoluted story, the terrible performances (Jai Courtney, take a bow) and for tarnishing the legacy of the series. People werent terribly excited for the movie based on the lacklustre trailers, yet they were given a shining beacon of hope when James Cameron himself recorded a video praising the movie. Cameron had been negative about the other two sequels, so to see him come out and profess that the movie was great and was a worthy follow-up to the original movies got peoples hopes up. When the movie was released and met with near universal scorn people were angry at Cameron, accusing him of helping sell a terrible movie just to help out his friend Arnold Schwarzenegger. There are three possibilities here; he saw a fantastic cut of Genisys which was subsequently butchered (unlikely), he was paid a large wad of money or and this is the bleakest option of all he genuinely thought it was great.
