2. The Amazing Spider-Man 2

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was a movie that failed to learn from the mistakes of previous Spider-Man movies: cramming multiple major villains into the same movie can easily bog down and mess up the story.

Spider-Man 3 is commonly criticised for this very reason, yet weirdly, Sony chose to put Norman Osborn, Harry Osborn, The Green Goblin, Electro and Rhino in the same movie, and attempted to properly service all of them.

This move was simply unnecessary, and crowded an already busy movie. Before release though, we didn't know this would be the case, and the prospect of Spidey facing off against some of his most famous baddies was tantalising.

One of these encounters - Spidey slinging a metal cover at Rhino - was spoiled in the trailers, and it just so happened that this was the film's final scene.

Most people assumed that this would be an early or mid-film fight sequence, so when it turned out to be cut short at the climax (and even worse, all the cool shots had been shown in the trailers), many fans were understandably annoyed; we'll never truly know if Spidey triumphed or not...
