Interestingly enough, Jennifer Lawrence does not actually enjoy singing. When they asked her to sing The Hanging Tree in Mockingjay, she had a breakdown and cried on set, she was so nervous. But it's sort of funny: if the thing that Jennifer Lawrence is worst at still ended up as the number one itunes download, what does that say about the rest of us? No, she's not a classically trained singer, but she's willing to bust out the pipes whenever necessary. Which includes her Oscar-nominated role in the David O'Russell film Joy, where she plays a divorced single mother who invented and patented a series of products that were huge sellers on QVC and the Home Shopping Network. Basically, we have her to thank for our mothers' obsession with buying random items off the television. And in Joy, she has a musical number, despite the fact that she has gone on record several times saying that she hates singing. Here we see her being wooed by her ex-husband, who convinces her to perform Something Stupid for a local musical. It's a sweet scene, and directors should probably keep forcing her to sing in movies, because it works.
