4. How It Connects To The MCU€

One of the keys to Marvel€™s success is the careful planning that goes into each film, usually years in advance, to ensure that they are all connected and feel like a part of the larger world, the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Many thought Ant-Man would be an exception to that, and indeed there was talk when Wright left the project that it was because head-honcho Kevin Feige was pushing him to link it to the rest of the MCU in ways that didn€™t fit. That€™s not the case here, as there are plenty of nods to the other films - mentions of Iron Man and the Avengers have already been shown in the trailers - and, without going into spoiler territory, quite a lot of setup for what€™s to come in Phase Three.

Thankfully, though, none of this feels forced. The references are often played for humour, and make sense in the context of these characters, while the Avenger cameo also fits into the film€™s story. There€™s two scenes after the credits begin to roll, and while these tend not to be as exciting as they once were, they€™re still definitely worth sticking around for.
