9 Canon Changes That Would Make Star Wars Instantly Better
9. Leave The Midi-Chlorians Out Of It
Despite only appearing in one Episode, and briefly showing up in the likes of The Clone Wars and Obi-Wan Kenobi, Liam Neeson's Qui-Gon Jinn has gone down in history as one of the most beloved Jedi of the lot.
One thing some fans will never forgive him for, though, is his part in introducing them to the mind-numbing concept of Midi-chlorians.
By taking this mysterious power the Jedi and Sith could wield after committing themselves to learning the ways of the Force and turning it into a measurable ability that can be analysed before proceeding to train an individual, it's safe to say a bit of the magic and fun was lost.
And it's not like Midi-chlorians were frequently mentioned in the time after Jinn explained to young Anakin Skywalker that they were microscopic life-forms living in their cells that tell them the will of the Force anyway.
Having the franchise maintain the mystery of exactly what the Force was and simply giving Jedi and Sith the ability to sense great potential within an individual through it, would definitely have made for a more interesting choice than the dull explanation that tumbled out of poor Jinn's mouth.
