9. Bisected Down The Middle - Dead Space: Downfall

Dead Space: Downfall is the animated prequel to the original game, showing what happened on the Ishimura when The Marker was brought onboard. Downfall is better than it has any right to be for a tie-in, and while the dialogue is quite cheesy it moves at a fast pace and the characters are likeable.

Anybody who played the game will know how the movie ends, so it’s no surprise when the heroes start dying. Downfall is dripping in gore too, so they don’t die pleasantly. The absolute worse goes to Shin, who saves her teammate from a Necromorph with her trusty plasma cutter.

Unfortunately, her friend had gone insane by that point, so he sneaks up behind her and plunges his cutter into her stomach. She screams in agony while he slices upwards and finally through her head. He finishes the job by slicing down again and totally bisecting her, which brings a whole new meaning to the term splitting up.
