4. Why Everyone Has Grindelwald's Name Wrong

Warner Bros

Years after Harry Potter was released, it turned out that Voldemort wasn't actually pronounced the way everyone thought and that the t was actually silent. Along with the revelations of Dumbledore's sexuality and Nagini being a cursed human, it ranked up there with the biggest post-release shocks.

And now, the universe is at it again, with Jude Law revealing that notorious Dark Wizard Gellert Grindelwald's name has been mispronounced too. Though, this is a much more self-serving revelation designed to mask the fact that Law created a continuity nightmare for the Fantastic Beasts sequel.

Somehow, Law decided to pronounce Grindelwald "Grindel-vald," which nobody else had before him. Including everyone in the film that his sequel was directly following. Luckily, Law told Stephen Colbert that there's a real reason for this: that Dumbledore simply knew Grindelwald so closely that he was the only person ever told how to pronounce it properly.

If that sounds decidedly conventient, it's because it is and Law definitely just wasn't paying attention and it was only when Eddie Redmayne pointed out the mistake halfway through filming that he even noticed.

Good work with the continuity work there, Warner Bros.
