WINNER: The Jungle Book

Nothing came even remotely close to challenging The Jungle Book all year as the undisputed winner of this category, and it'll probably go on to win the actual Oscar as well.

Creating convincingly lifelike talking animals is no easy feat, and integrating a human being into the mix only makes it a ton more complicated, yet Jon Favreau and his team of effects wizards made the results look beautifully seamless.

Plus, whoever decided that King Louie needed to have Christopher Walken's actual eyes is a genuine genius. Terrifying.
