6. Doctor Strange

Cause of Death: Disintegrated.

Doctor Strange's demise ranks highly for one major reason: his dying line to Tony Stark. After watching Mantis, Drax and Star-Lord turn to dust, Strange tells Tony, "There was no other way", and promptly disintegrates.

It's a line loaded with meaning, quite clearly spelling out that these deaths are necessary in order for the Avengers to fulfil the single winning scenario Strange saw when examining the 14 million possible outcomes of fighting Thanos.

It may be more obvious than it needs to be, but given the year-long wait for Avengers 4, it's a great line to keep fans speculating on what exactly Strange saw.
