4. Aurora - In A Violent Nature

The 2020s have served up few death scenes more creatively effed-up than that of yoga girl Aurora (Charlotte Creaghan) in In A Violent Nature.

Though this one had been hyped up for months on the festival circuit, it actually still lived up to all the pre-release chatter. 

Aurora takes the opportunity to perform some relaxing cliffside yoga when the party is crashed by masked killer Johnny (Ry Barrett). Johnny doesn't just slice her up, though - he gets nauseatingly inventive with this one.

Johnny disembowels Aurora with his hook, then forces her head backwards through the hole in her abdomen he just made, and then kicks off the edge of the cliff to rub salt in the very, very big wound.

Modern horror audiences are so hardened to extreme gore that it's tough to shock them anymore, but even the most ardent Terrifier die-hard might've squirmed at this one. 

What it lacks in realism this death scene more than compensates for with creativity and sheer technical skill.
