20 Greatest Horror Movie Deaths Of The 2020s (So Far)

2. Erik Campbell - Final Destination Bloodlines

Final Destination Bloodlines didn't just successfully revitalise the legendary franchise against the odds - it also delivered one of the series' single best death scenes to date.

We're led to believe that the movie's MVP character, Erik Campbell (Richard Harmon), is effectively immune from Death's grasp due to being the product of an affair, and therefore not part of the actual Campbell bloodline.

However, this is proven categorically wrong when he tries to save his half-brother Bobby (Owen Patrick Joyner) from death by inducing a peanut allergy at the hospital and then reviving him.

Death, seemingly pissed off at Erik for trying to mess with its plans, uses a malfunctioning MRI machine to rip Erik's many piercings out - including a Prince Albert - before pulling him towards the machine and then impaling him with a wheelchair.

It's absolutely horrifying watching the film's most likeable character die such a brutal death, his body being contorted inside the MRI machine like a fleshy pretzel, while making the audience aware that Death isn't above taking out those who try to outsmart it.
