10 Best Horror Movies Of 2026 (So Far)
9. Ready Or Not 2: Here I Come
It may be tricky to get right, but balancing both fear and fun can be incredibly effective in a movie. In 2018, Ready or Not blended an innocent children's game with a dark, satanic ritual, producing a hugely entertaining outing. It was largely a self-contained story that certainly didn't need a sequel, but that didn't stop audiences from calling for one anyway.
Said sequel came almost a decade later, as Samara Weaving's Grace was brought back to play yet another game of hide and seek just hours after the end of the last one. It's a premise that was largely similar to the original from eight years before, and though old ground was certainly retrodden, it was kept fresh by an injection of new characters, as well as the dynamic between Grace and her sister, Faith (Kathryn Newton).
Weaving and her now iconic wail were the stars of the show, with the addition of Newton, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Elijah Wood among others greatly contributing to a sophomore effort that doubled down on the scope and violence of the game, right up until a killer ending.
