20 Greatest Horror Movie Endings of the 2020s (So Far)

12. Together

If you thought that the supernatural body horror film Together would conclude with co-dependent couple Tim (Dave Franco) and Millie (Alison Brie) figuring out a way to avoid being fused together forever more, think again.

In the climax, Tim prepares to kill himself in order to spare Millie, but decides not to when he sees Millie bleeding to death.

Instead, he fuses his arm to her wound, saving her life, before they get naked, profess their enduring love for one another and slow-dance to the Spice Girls' anthemic "2 Become 1" as the fusion process take place.

In one of the gnarliest body horror sequences of the decade, we see Tim and Millie's flesh uncannily meld together, before a final scene shows Millie's parents arriving at their home and being greeted by an androgynous hybrid of Millie and Tim.

It's certainly a satisfying and effectively visceral pay-off to the film's delirious premise, and one that leaves viewers with a whole lot to think about past the credits.
