11. The GORGEOUS Cinematoraphy - Desert Warrior

Considering that the new Anthony Mackie-starring, Saudi-produced historical epic Desert Warrior spent the better part of five years in post-production limbo, during which point director Rupert Wyatt briefly quit the film, it surprised nobody that the end result was absolutely terrible.

This feckless $150 million blockbuster, for all of its production values, is a thunderous, sluggishly paced bore that also happens to take itself 200% too seriously.

But again, it does have production values, and Desert Warrior's single praise-worthy aspect is its eye-wateringly beautiful cinematography courtesy of DoP Guillermo Garza.

The sun-kissed nods to Lawrence of Arabia are plentiful and welcome, and if nothing else the film does serve as a gorgeous calling card for the lush, expansive vistas of Saudi Arabia.

It's just a shame that basically everything surrounding the screensaver-worthy visuals, from dodgy casting to flavourless writing and inept action sequences, is a complete and utter waste of time.
