20 Awesome Moments From TERRIBLE Recent Movies

5. Pyramid Head Vs. Spider Monster - Return to Silent Hill

Despite the apparent passion of filmmaker Christophe Gans, who spent an entire 20 years trying to get it made, Return to Silent Hill was a shambolic misfire - an embarrassingly inept adaptation of the beloved video game, sullied by its constrained budget, stiff performances, and pointless deviations from the source.

But at least it kinda-sorta got Pyramid Head right.

There's a single diverting set-piece in the film, when while protagonist James (Jeremy Irvine) is fleeing the hulking monster, he stumbles upon a grotesque spider-like humanoid creature, which then turns it attention towards Pyramid Head and attacks him.

It's an ill-advised choice, naturally, as the big lug swiftly overpowers the spider-thing, slices away at its limbs and then beats it to death with his bare hands.

That's... pretty damn hardcore, and some questionable VFX aside, it's the single viscerally effective moment in this entire sad farce of a movie.
