20 Awesome Moments From TERRIBLE Recent Movies

20. You're Welcome - Moana

The live-action Moana just might be the most soulless and creatively bankrupt of all the Disney remakes - a film that matches its utter lack of "necessity" with a bafflingly sterile sense of style that feels painfully inferior to the 2016 animated original.

There's only a single moment that captures even a fraction of the original's vibrancy, and that's the spirited rendition of iconic tune "You're Welcome," as Maui (Dwayne Johnson) introduces himself to Moana (Catherine Laga'aia).

Despite so many ill-advised creative decisions working against the film, it can't help but strike gold here thanks to the song's inherent catchiness and the energetic, visually lively rendition of the number, complete with some gorgeous 2D and 3D animation.

But it's ultimately just a few minutes of respite in an otherwise inexplicably bland retelling of a classic animation nobody was really asking for.

At least it flopped badly enough at the box office that Disney almost certainly won't attempt to remake Moana 2.
