5. Untitled Takashi Miike & Charli XCX Film

Here's a horror film we know almost nothing about, yet the cast and crew combo alone ensures genre aficionados will be chomping at the bit to see it.

Legendary filmmaker Takashi Miike (Ichi the Killer) is next set to direct a slasher film starring Charli XCX, Milly Alcock, and Hailey Gates as three friends who meet up in Kyoto, only for one of them - apparently Charli XCX's Katie - to become possessed by a tortured spirit (Kiko Mizuhara).

And if that's not enough, Norman Reedus will also appear in an undisclosed role.

This sure sounds like a riot of a movie for Miike of all people to make, with the script apparently stemming from an original idea conceived by him and Charli XCX. 

Stranger still it'll mark an incredibly rare foray into English-language territory for the Japanese filmmaker, and if nothing else should be one of the strangest horror films due to land next year.
