15. The Conjuring: First Communion

Last year's The Conjuring: Last Rites was mounted as the final entry for stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, but considering the film grossed just shy of $500 million worldwide - making it the highest-grossing installment in the series - of course it was never going to stop there.

Warner Bros. swiftly announced that a prequel was in the works, set to revolve around a younger Ed and Lorraine Warren. 

And though it hasn't been confirmed yet, it seems highly likely that the roles will be played by Orion Smith and Madison Lawlor, who played the pair so well during Last Rites' prequel prologue sequence.

Tempted though one might be to look down their nose at a Conjuring prequel as a mere brand-extending exercise, those box office receipts don't lie - there's clearly a growing hunger for more stories in this universe.
