What We Know So Far

By the look of the trailer, Okoye will be taking a leadership role within T'Challa's personal bodyguard, the Dora Milaje. Given that she's played by Danai Gurira, that makes a lot of sense, and we can probably expect to see her playing a key right-hand role to the Wakandan king.

Along with Nakia, she has been a close companion of T'Challa in the comics in the wake of the political friction that made the king reinstate the Dora Milaje after a period of inactivity. Expect a formidable warrior.

After some speculation, Marvel have confirmed that she is not in a romantic relationship with fellow Dora Milaje member Ayo (played by Florence Kasumba).
