Of course, there could only be one winner Tom Hollands Spider-Man, whom Marvel Studios and Sony will both be hoping to be the breakout star of Captain America: Civil War. Despite the ridiculous pressure of two major film studios expectations weighing down on him, maybe just maybe Tom Holland can pull it off, by reviving Peter Parker on the big screen in a way that viewers really love. Theres certainly an engaging Spidey-in-Civil-War framework from the comics that he could draw upon. In the comic book source material, Spider-Man was at centre, unmasking publicly at one point (to show his support for the government's transparency-encouraging stance), only to be betrayed by a major character later on and forced into changing sides. Seeing Peters loyalties tested like this could allow Tom Holland to show off some serious dramatic chops (even if unmasking may be a rogue move). On top of that, hell need to showcase that iconic Peter Parker sense of humour as well as holding his own in the action scenes of the movie. Ideally, therell be an emotional core to his character, too (the romantic entanglements between Andrew Garfield's Spidey and Emma Stone's Gwen Stacey will be tough to beat on that front). Its not an easy task, and many of these key elements may be saved for his proper standalone movie, but if Holland gets enough screen time and stuff to do in Civil War we could go into that 2017 film already having a great Spider-Man established.
