Christopher Nolan: Everything We Know About His 2020 Film 'Tenet'
8. It's Called Tenet
When Christopher Nolan's 2020 movie was first announced, it didn't even have so much as a title. That speaks to the drawing power the director has, because even just 'Untitled Nolan Project' is pretty exciting.
Now, according to a report from Variety, the film does indeed have a title: Tenet.
Can we just go back to Untitled Nolan Project? Tenet isn't officially confirmed, and it sounds more like a working title than an actual one, but Variety are often on the money with these things, so let's assume for now that it is indeed the real title. Does it tell us anything else about the movie?
A tenet is a principle or belief, generally regarding either religion or philosophy. The idea of exploring someone's philosophical beliefs, or the tenets of various people in different ways and how they clash with what they're tasked with doing, does sound like the kind of thing Nolan would want to do within one of his movies, especially post-Interstellar.
