3. The Silencer Shootout - John Wick: Chapter 2

John Wick: Chapter 2 certainly took its assassin shenanigans in a more heightened direction compared to the more grounded original, resulting in the absolutely absurd sequence where John (Keanu Reeves) and duelling assassin Cassian (Cassian) shoot silenced pistols at one another from a far in a crowded subway station.

It's absolutely hilarious watching the bullets whizz back and forth all while the commuters mere feet away don't react at all.

To some, this was a jumping-the-shark moment for the sequel, because of course silenced pistols still make plenty of noise - they're simply considerably quieter than an unsilenced one.

For many fans it was a step too far into the land of cartoonishness, but there are also those who felt it played perfectly into the series' brand of outrageous dark comedy. 

Given John Wick: Chapter 2's success, it was something the next two sequels ultimately only doubled down on, for better or worse.
