20 Most Divisive Movie Scenes Ever

4. The Jimmies Arrive - 28 Years Later

28 Years Later was a mostly stellar return to form for the post-apocalyptic franchise, though the box office failure of its recent sequel, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, can largely be attributed to its incredibly polarising final scene.

After young Spike (Alfie Williams) returns to the mainland, we cut to 28 days later, where Spike is preyed upon by a fleet of the Rage-infected, only to be suddenly saved by a blonde-haired, tracksuit-wearing Jimmy Crystal (Jack O'Connell), and his gang of similarly attired, weapon-wielding followers, all of whom resemble Jimmy Saville.

The gang makes short work of the Infected in an utterly unhinged action sequence set to a heavy metal cover of the Teletubbies' theme, mirroring the brief glimpse of the Teletubbies on TV during the film's prologue covering Jimmy's origin story.

For a lot of people, the scene was just too tonally and stylistically jarring compared to the more tender previous scenes in which Alfie said farewell to his late mother Isla (Jodie Comer), even though some respected Boyle for upending expectations so aggressively with this WTF finale.
