4. Ripley & Dallas' Sex Scene - Alien

It's frankly wild how much Ridley Scott's Alien changed from the early drafts of the script to the final released product, and pretty much all these changes were for the better.

One baffling inclusion in an early draft was a sex scene between Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) and Dallas (Tom Skerritt) after the death of Kane (John Hurt),

Though scripted to serve as a moment of relief between the two characters amid a high-stress scenario, when Sigourney Weaver first met with Scott to discuss the role, she objected to it.

Weaver asked Scott, "Would you really get it on while this thing is running around?," and while as a basically unknown actress at the time she certainly didn't have enough sway to demand rewrites, she made enough of an impression on Scott that he accepted her feedback and had the sex scene removed from the script.

Alien already does a great job of establishing the various character dynamics aboard the Nostromo, and this would've almost certainly felt like a gratuitous opportunity to show some skin, akin to a more conventional slasher flick.
