D23: 10 MCU Announcements That Will Break The Internet
10. The Cast & Director Of Fantastic Four
First up is something fans have been thinking about for years and years, even before the Fantastic Four came back under the Marvel umbrella. Fans know that Marvel’s First Family will be returning to the big screen in 2024, but don’t yet know who will bring them to life.
Of course, arguably one of the most popular fancastings in history came true when John Krasinski portrayed Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. However, this was Earth-838’s Reed Richards, which does not guarantee Krasinski will return to be the Earth-616 version.
Regardless of who it is, the announcement of Reed’s casting will be huge news, but just imagine the reaction if it should be confirmation of Krasinski's return. Add in Sue Storm, in a perfect world played by Emily Blunt, the Human Torch and the Thing, and this would be big.
Then there is who will bring the movie to life behind the camera. Recent weeks have suggested that WandaVision’s Matt Shakman will be directing the Fantastic Four’s first MCU movie, though nothing is certain until the Godfather of the franchise himself says so.
