Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness: Every Main Character Ranked From Worst To Best

4. America Chavez

America Chavez was featured heavily in the marketing for the Multiverse of Madness, and was the only real newcomer to the franchise seemingly outside of cameos for the time being. There is no denying that she brought a new dimension to the franchise, with her unique ability to hop between universes and now almost typical young woman sass and sarcasm.

Though she certainly hasn’t quite made the same instant impact as a Yelena Belova or a Kate Bishop, this was a strong debut for the youngster. Though her character was great, she was somewhat limited by the story and the movie’s writing.

At times it felt as though she was relegated to little more than a plot device allowing a no-questions-asked method of transport throughout the multiverse. Then there is the fact that, in spite of not being able to control her power throughout the entire movie, all of a sudden she could, right when she needed it.

This didn’t feel earned, as she went through no training or sacrifice to unlock her true potential, she just kind of arrived there because Doctor Strange said so. This was absolutely a strong start to life in the MCU for America Chavez, but with more than a little room for improvement.
