Finally, we get the first shot of Tilda Swinton's mysterious The Ancient One, who Strange seeks out to find answers to his hand issues. Presumably he will follow a thread of rumours in Tibet to her door, without actually believing any of her powers.

For a person of 500 years old, she looks impressively youthful...

It is a shame that the gender-swap means missing further opportunity for diversity, but you can't have everything, and Swinton's casting is absolutely genius for the teacher figure.

That inevitably will not stop accusations of white-washing, though.
