Gideons moniker of G-Man is a reference to a character in Russ Meyers film, who is also a well-connected music producer, called Ronnie Z-Man Barzell, proving that OMalley, Wright and Wrights co-writer Michael Bacall also have a fine appreciation for the smuttier films in life. Of course, it could also be a reference to the G-Man from Half-Life , who operates in a similar role to Gideon as the main villain of the piece.
