When Sex-Bob-omb appear to be on the verge of defeat in the Battle of the Bands Scott pushes the G.E.M pedal, summoning a giant yeti who duels the Katayanagai dragons (themselves a probable reference to the iconic video game Double Dragons.) According to the DVD commentary, the production staff referred to the giant creature Scott summoned as the green-eyed-monster, fitting in with the name of the pedal and also providing a Shakespeare reference. Green-eyed monster is Shakespeares phrase for jealousy in Othello, an emotion that can clearly be seen in Scott when he sees Ramona with the successful Gideon. The fact Ramonas hair is also coloured green is just the icing on the cake.
