The posters advertising the movie made it clear that Wright and his team werent a one-trick referencing pony as the designs tended to include the aviator-clad Frost and Pegg in various poses mimicking a number of action classics. Targets included Bad Boys and Bad Boys 2 which Wright and Pegg constantly cited as a huge influence and one of the their favourite films in their promotional tour with Nick Angel (Pegg) adopting the poses of Will Smith while Danny Butterman (Frost) attempted to look like Martin Lawrence. A further film poster showing close-ups of the two leads heads separated by a magnum was meant to resemble Clint Eastwood classic Magnum Force. Unsurprisingly, movie geeks everywhere picked up on the fact.
