Danny gets a cornetto from the shop, providing a link between the otherwise-unrelated Shaun of the Dead. Wrights films including the upcoming The Worlds End are referred to as the Three Colours Cornetto trilogy, itself a reference to Krzysztof Kielowski's Three Colours film trilogy. Its thought the idea came around from Wright and Peggs belief in a Cornetto being an effective hangover cure. In Hot Fuzz, the cornetto used is the original because its blue package represents the police. In Shaun of the Dead the Cornetto is strawberry in reference to the blood in a horror film and The Worlds End will feature mint-flavoured Cornettos, its green colour being a reference to the alien invaders.
