Every Film & TV Show CENSORED On Disney+
Their new streaming service has seen Disney cleaning up “The House Of Mouse”.
From their revered animated classics to their various “world” and “land” theme parks Disney has long been proud of its reputation for family friendly entertainment. The same philosophy extends to their new streaming service Disney+.
Of course Disney is also a massive business conglomerate with fingers sticky from being in so many pies. Not all their output is quite so focused on family fun. Disney own, for example, the company that made Reservoir Dogs but you won’t find the DVD in your local Disney Store.
Similarly, Disney+ is strictly family fare while anything a little more adult orientated is placed on another Disney owned streaming service, Hulu.
That might sound like a straightforward solution but it’s not quite as simple as it seems. Many Disney films and TV shows, while broadly fine for kids, contain the odd line or scene that is deemed unsuitable. Some might be a bit “mature” for youngsters while others have aged badly, with content that just isn’t a good look in 2020.
Disney’s attempts to sanitise their product has invited controversy and created an internet alliance between those who hate dodgy CGI and fans of Daryl Hannah’s butt.
Here are all the scenes that can’t be seen on Disney+
12. Splash
Splash is probably the most controversial edit featured on this list and subject to much online debate. Disney has decided Daryl Hannah’s bum is too much for kids.
Some scenes have seen the offending buttocks blurred or cropped out but the most devisive change comes in a scene that sees the film’s heroine running down the beach away from a love struck Tom Hanks. Where once there was a derrière there is now an extra foot or so of blonde hair. You can see why they’d take this approach. After all, long hair was the original cover for Hannah spending much of the 1984 Movie with her top off.
Some parent’s groups have supported the changes while others online have railed against the edits. Whether or not the scene should have been altered, pretty much everyone agrees the new CGI is a botch job. Darryl’s new look has drawn unfavourable comparisons to the CGI fur in Tom Hooper’s recent big screen bust Cats.
No one wants to be caught on camera wearing dodgy hair extensions. Poor Darryl Hannah has had these ones added on years after the fact and, literally, behind her back.
