Every Stan Lee Cameo Ranked From Worst To Best

30. The Avengers (2012)

Lee's cameo in the biggest MCU movie (up to that point) is surprisingly swift and subtle (for the standards of these cameos, anyway).

At the tail-end of the movie once Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and the Chitauri are defeated, Lee is being interviewed for a TV network about the possibility of The Avengers being a hoax.

He says, "Superheroes, in New York? Give me a break." It's surprisingly not-clever for a sliver of Joss Whedon dialogue, perhaps suggesting this one was quickly thrown together last-minute.

Lee actually had a far better cameo that was sadly cut from the movie, where after a waitress flirts with Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), Lee implores him, "Ask for her number, you moron."

29. Doctor Strange (2016)

Marvel Studios

Though it's basically a conceptual rehash of Lee's cameo from The Amazing Spider-Man, his Doctor Strange appearance is still mildly amusing because we get to see Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Baron Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) catapulted into a bus, within which Lee is cackling to himself while reading Aldous Huxley’s "The Doors of Perception."

It loses a point because it looks suspiciously like Cumberbatch and Ejiofor were composited into the shot in post-production and likely didn't even share the set with Lee that day, but still, pretty neat.
