39. Tales From the Darkside (1990)

The fourth in a series of anthology movies inspired by the works of Stephen King, Tales from the Darkside is unofficially considered Creepshow 3, featuring many of the same crewmembers as King's previous anthologies, including writer George A. Romero and makeup artist Tom Savini.

Unfortunately, this continuation of the TV series of the same name has too little focus to work as well as it should. There's some interest to be found in the performances - particularly that of a doomed Steve Buscemi - and Savini's practical effects work, but not enough to make up for its lack of cohesion, dire attempts at dark comedy, or effective scares.
