20 Horror Franchises That NEED To Come Back

8. Wishmaster

Dark fantasy horror film Wishmaster is something of a cult classic - a guilty pleasure some might say, but a deliriously entertaining entry into "be careful what you wish for" cinema, elevated by Andrew Divoff's captivating performance as the diabolical Djinn.

Between 1999 and 2002, three critically panned direct-to-video sequels were released, with Divoff sitting out the latter two.

Yet Wishmaster is so conceptually outlandish and downright fun that it seems like an abject waste not to bring it back. The title is catchy and sells the film instantly, and with the right actor playing the Djinn it could be absolute riot.

Divoff recently suggested he'd love to reprise his role once more, though realistically a studio looking to reboot Wishmaster will almost certainly seek out a bigger name for the part.

Either way, Wishmaster could be a powerful IP with the right approach, rather than remaining one that just never quite realised its full potential.
