1. It Can't Fully Escape The "Wikipedia Biopic" Formula

One of the most common complaints about modern movie biopics is their tendency to feel like Wikipedia page summaries dispassionately translated into screenplay form.

And while this is a fun movie to a point, it does often whiff of a CliffsNotes account of the facts, plowing through events and time periods with a determined efficiency to ensure it ticks all the major boxes.

As the recent Princess Diana biopic Spencer confirmed, sometimes it's far more satisfying to simply see a constrained snapshot of a person's life, and while the Gucci story is certainly an epic, years-spanning one, it clings mostly to the broad beats rather than honing in on something more intimate.
