Bill Pullman and Jeff Goldblum are possibilities as far as familiar names go. Goldblum confirmed that he has been talking with Devlin and Emmerich for about a year in a recent interview, so he seems to be a lock. And believe it or not, at 79, Judd Hirsh is still pretty active. It has been many years since Goldblum really carried a big picture, however. Jurassic Park: The Lost World was probably the last time he had top billing, and really, the stars there were the dinosaurs. However, in an event picture like Independence Day 2, the stars are pretty much the aliens and the actions, so maybe that could work.
